For many years I have tried to find my instrument. You know, the one your spirit speaks through.
I tried singing, tone deaf. I tried Guitar, my fingers couldn’t handle. Djembe drums? I’m so off beat, left hand then right, right then left, left and right again. I was at the point of getting a triangle. Tiiing.
Until one memorable evening.
Sitting by the fire at a musical festival was this magical creature in a trance-like state jamming his didge. The sepia tones ~ shimmers of orange and dark yellows danced upon his pale skin from the shadow of the fire.
He looked up at me, said nothing, and handed over the didge.
I had never played, but blew into it, and miraculously played a drone sound immediately, a month later I was circular breathing.
I had found my instrument.
Along my travels I have manifested more like-minded creatures that play the tribal sounds of the didge.
Our journey to the lands of Khula Dharma led me straight to my gurus, where our evenings were spent under a galaxy of stars, sitting around the warmth of a fire, and finally, learning different elements of the didgeridoo.
From different drone sounds, diaphragm breathing, breathing patterns, shrieks, and even talk of how to make didges yourself!
They were patient with me as I persevered, and super insightful with their wisdom and knowledge.
If anyone is looking for a didge, they make and sell beautiful ones themselves.
If anyone wants a little retreat and didge workshop, they offer those too, where you are taught how to make a didge and play a didge, while immersing yourself in their magical land.
I *highly* recommend getting in touch with these guys! 😀
As a parting gift, I now own my very own didge, hand-crafted by DidgeridoosforAfrica.
Thank you for everything <3
May the longtime Light shine upon you, and all Love surround you.
